Mount Ayr Band Rocks!!

My name is Aaron Comer and I am the band director (grades 5-12) for the Mount Ayr Community Schools.  I have been blessed to spend the majority of my life in Ringgold County.  I was born and raised in Mount Ayr and graduated from MACS in 1997.  Additionally, I received my Bachelor of Arts in Music Education degree from Graceland University in Lamoni, Iowa. This will be my 20th year in education and my fourth year of teaching at MACS.  I have also taught in the Central Decatur (Leon) and Lamoni school districts.

I am very passionate about the band program at MACS.  We have an amazing band tradition at our school.  MACS band director legends Merrill Perry and Greg Storhoff were my teachers/mentors and almost all of my teaching techniques and philosophies are directly tied to the things I learned from those amazing Mount Ayr instructors.

My wife, Beth, and I have been married for 15 years. Our twins, Aiden and Belle, will be entering 6th grade this fall.  We live on the family farm a few miles west of Mount Ayr.  When we are not busy with school activities, we love to spend time with extended family, attend Kansas City Royals baseball games, watch TV/movies, attend yearly church camps and retreats, and play/work on the farm.
