About myself:
Her hometown is Gravity, Iowa where she grew up on the family farm and enjoys being outdoors. She has a love for all animals, but most of all cocker spaniels. Photography is a passion and her favorite is wildlife photography. She graduated from Corning, Iowa, when they were still the Corning Red Raiders in 1999. After high school, she went to college at Ellsworth Community College and transferred to Iowa Wesleyan College. She majored in Biology, Chemistry, and Life Science, while playing college basketball for four years. Right out of college, she worked at Integrated DNA Technologies in Coralville, Iowa for two years as a Production Scientist. Then, after opening a lab branch in San Diego, CA, for the company she decided to go back to graduate school at NWMSU in Maryville, MO to teach high school science. She received her first teaching job in St Joseph, MO at Lafayette High School and Benton High school for two years. Next she moved to Marshall, MO at Marshall High School for the next four years. After Marshall, in year 2014-2016, she worked insurance for two years as a licensed agent in Bedford, Iowa, at Simmons Agency. Then got back in to teaching at Stanberry High School in Stanberry, MO for one year, 2016-17. She has been teaching for ten years now and is in her third year teaching in Mt Ayr during the 2019-20 school year. She has enjoyed being close to home and plans to challenge herself and students any chance she gets here, while she raises her five year old son, Brecken.
